Ricardo Petrillo, who lived on campus, suffered head trauma after falling from the balcony at about 2:30 a.m. He was treated at the scene and brought to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he died a short time later, police said.

The university did not release other information.

This is really a tragic day. Ricardo was such a pleasant young man - one who was very active in theatre since middle school. He was very talented.
Ricardo was also extremely intelligent and caring. I was very sad to learn of Ricardo’s death. I extend my sincerest sympathies to Ricardo’s family.
Has there been any news regarding a memorial service or funeral? As a recent Staples grad and friend of his brothers, now attending school in Boston, I know there are a number of students who would be interested in attending.
My prayers go out to the family for this tragic lost.
