Lt. Gov. Michael Fedele stopped by Westport Fire Headquarters shortly before 11 a.m. to check on the food drive and was greeted by Westport First Selectman Gordon F. Joseloff and Deputy Chief Jonanath Gottfried.
Firefighters stacked bags of pasta, peanut butter, and canned goods inside fire headquarters to await pick up by the state.
Gov. M. Jodi Rell announced the drive last month which is aimed at replenishing Foodshare and Connecticut Food Bank stocks ahead of the coming holidays.

Excellent idea. I just dropped off 11 boxes of microwave popcorn on behalf of Boy Scout Troop 100. I hope this food drive is wildly successful and that it is repeated in the spring when the food banks generally fall short on donations. Great job Westport.
