Tractor-Trailer on Merritt Slows Traffic
UPDATE A tractor-trailer which wandered on to the Merritt Parkway in Norwalk near the Westport line caused lengthy delays tonight, officials said.
According to the Department of Transportation, the tractor-trailer struck the Grumman Avenue overpass between Exits 40B and 41 just after 7 p.m.
The DOT shut down one lane northbound and said shortly before midnight that the vehicle had been removed.
No commercial vehicles are permitted on the parkway because of low bridge clearance.
