Staples Student Fights World Hunger
![]()
Sitara Mahtani, 17, a senior at Westport’s Staples High School, today thanked members of Westport’s Sunrise Rotary Club for sponsoring her attendance at this summer’s World Affairs Seminar in Wisconsin on world hunger. “I’m now paying more attention to how much food people around me eat,” she said . Last year, Sitara and her friends formed a nonprofit charitable organization called Children-2-Children to raise funds to help educate underprivileged children in India, her father’s birthplace, and other developing countries. Great work, Sitara!
Sounds like you had a good trip Sitara. A big thanks goes to the Rotary who sponsored you. Next year I’ll buy more ducks for the race if these sponsorships are the types of things the funds go to!
