Play With Your Food Features Powerful “Beirut Rocks”
![]()
The Westport lunchtime audience attending the second of this season’s “Play With Your Food” series today was treated to the powerful Israel Horovitz drama “Beirut Rocks.” Set during last year’s Israeli-Hezbollah war, it depicts an intense confrontation in a Beirut hotel room between two American students, one a Jewish boy and the other a Palestinian-born girl shipped to the United States after her family died. Two other “ordinary” U.S. students studying abroad are also present. Carole Schweid (l), co-founder of the series with Nancy Diamond, led the actors in a “talk back” session with the audience following the sell-out performance.
