Mary Hall Rhodes Jackson Glendenning, a former Westport resident, died Jan. 2 in Lost Tree Village, North Palm Beach, Fla. She was 92.

“Molly” was born in Portland, Maine on Oct. 14, 1920. Her parents were Richard Ayer Rhodes and Jane Isabelle Hall. She graduated from Northfield Academy in 1938, received a B.A from Wheaton College (1942) and attended the Katharine Gibbs School in Boston (1943).

Among her numerous achievements, she worked for Dr. Frederic E. Terman at the Radio Research Lab and while at Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass. (1943) she held top secret clearance while working on a variety of military countermeasures during World War II.

After marrying Lt. Col. Melvin L. Jackson in 1943, she worked at the Pentagon in Washington (1944), moved to Garden City, Long Island, N.Y. in 1945, and Westport in 1956.

While in Westport, she was active in various community activities, while being employed by Glendinning Companies in 1964. After her marriage to Ralph Glendinning in 1975, she moved to Fairfield, then to Lost Tree Village in North Palm Beach, where she lived for the remainder of her life.

She is survived by three grandchildren of her late son Richard Rhodes Jackson, Briana, Cody and Eric; her two remaining sons Charles Melvin Jackson, with wife Lori and daughter Sophie; and Robert Ayer Jackson, with wife Megan, five sons Brian and wife Nadia, Tom and wife Melissa, James, Miles and Connor.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 11 a.m. at the Lost Tree Village Chapel, with a reception to follow at the Lost Tree Club House.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Lost Tree Village Benevolent Fund.
