Mariann Jo Van Zanten, 60

Mariann Jo Gordon Van Zanten of Westport died Dec.11 in Norwalk Hospital after a long illness. She was 60.

A 22-year resident of Westport, she was the daughter of Sidney and Shirley Gordon of Chicago and wife of John Bernard Van Zanten.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Lukas Gordon Van Zanten and Paul Bernard Van Zanten, both of Westport, and by her brothers Jerrold and Jonathan Gordon, mother-in-law Judith Ellen Van Zanten and many nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by friends and neighbors whose support, love and care made a great difference during her illness, but also during her vibrant life, her family said.

She loved her family above all, providing wisdom, guidance and love to all. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Jan. 4, at 1 p.m. at the Unitarian Church, 10 Lyons Plains Road.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Whittingham Cancer Center, 24 Stevens St., Norwalk, CT 06856, attention Dr. George Zahrah.
