In Fashion
The Westport Woman’s Club April luncheon today featured a Fashion Event, a presentation of passion for history and fashion from the early 1900s to the present. It was a joint effort with Brooks Brothers which just celebrated its 192nd anniversary. Vintage clothing, including dresses from 1918 and the 1930s, military uniforms from 1918 and the 1940s were on loan from the Westport Historical Society and used as a stage backdrop. Doris Smart wore her mother’s dress that reminded her of her mother and father dancing under the stars to “Stardust” at New York’s Tavern on the Green.
