Coastal Flood Watch Issued
The National Weather Service in Upton, N.Y. has issued a coastal Flood Watch for Westport and area which is in effect from late Thursday night through Friday morning.
Sustained winds of 20 to 25 miles per hour Thursday night and Friday will result in building seas and surge along the coast, an advisory said.
This coupled with astronomically high tides likely will produce moderate coastal flooding near the time of high tide Friday morning.
Areas along the southwestern coast of Long Island Sound appear most susceptible to significant impacts at this time, the advisory said.
