Before the Plunge
![]()
Several groups did a New Year’s Day polar bear plunge at Westport’s Compo Beach today. More than 20 braved temperatures in the 30s, wind gusts up to 30 knots, and pelting rain to raise money for Westport-based Save the Children. Participants posed for a pre-plunge photo. This was the first time I’ve ever done anything like this. I’m glad I did. It was an invigorating way to start off the New Year while helping out a great organization like Save The Children.
