Bayberry Bridge Repair on Schedule

Email Favicon Facebook Favicon LinkedIn Favicon Image
The emergency repair of the Bayberry Lane Extension bridge is on schedule to be completed by the end of next week, according to Rafael Ramos (r), a Town of Westport engineering department project overseer. The work that began two weeks ago includes the construction of temporary dams, built to divert the flow of the Aspetuck River from the work area. Ramos said over time a severe erosion of the bridge abutment was caused and Storm Sandy added to the problem. He indicated that in a few years the entire bridge will be replaced but the work that’s being done will protect it from further erosion. Bayberry Lane is closed to traffic until the project completion. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for
