James A. Hoey, 87
James A. Hoey of Weston, husband of Helen (Osgood) Hoey, died Jan. 29 at home. He was 87.
Born Feb. 20, 1925 in Brookline, Mass., son of the late Michael J. and Bertha (Green) Hoey, he has been a resident of Weston for 32 years.
He was a parishioner of Saint Francis of Assisi Church in Weston, a 1947 graduate of Tufts University with a degree in chemical engineering, and a member of the Y’s Men of Westport Weston. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors in addition to his wife include, three daughters, Deborah Nekus and her husband Andrew of Ridgewood, N.J., Judith Falbo and her husband Anthony of Newtown, Ellen MacCloy and her husband Robert of Monroe; two sons, James M. Hoey and his wife Mary Ann of Chicago, Stephen A. Hoey and his wife Deborah of Bourbonnais, Ill., and 12 grandchildren, Michael, Jim, Allison, Max, Bill Anthony, Ryan, Conor, Lindsay, Stephanie, Errica and Molly. He was also predeceased by one sister, Mary Bell.
The family will receive friends in the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East, Westport, on Friday, Feb. 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, Feb. 2, meeting directly at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 35 Norfield Road, Weston. Interment with full military honors will follow in Assumption Cemetery, 73 Greens Farms Road, Westport.
