Constance Bevis, 82
Constance Howe McDonald Bevis of Westbrook, Conn., formerly of Westport, died at home on Jan. 22 after a short illness. She was 82.
She was born on Oct. 27, 1930 in Miles City, Mont., daughter of the late Clifford and Gertrude (Foster) Howe.
She was a member and past state president of PEO, a philanthropic educational organization for women; a member of Alpha Phi sorority; a member and past commander of Saugatuck River Sail and Power Squadron; a member of Saybrook Sail and Power Squadron; and a member of the Clinton Rotary Club.
She was predeceased by two husbands, Henry McDonald and Charles Bevis. She leaves a daughter and son-in-law Lynn McDonald and Michael Coppedge of Mishawaka, Ind., a son Henry McDonald of Kent, Wash., a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Kacey McDonald of Goshen, Ind., stepdaughters Judith Schneider and Barbara Bevis; and grandchildren Lydia, Nathan, and Brian Coppedge; Hayden and Samuel McDonald; and Meredith and Kenneth Schneider.
The family would like to express gratitude to her many friends and to the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care of Middlesex Hospital for their kind support during her illness.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 2 p.m.at First Congregational Church of Westbrook, 1166 Boston Post Road, Westbrook.
