Valerie Boothroyd of Fairfield, a former Bank of America employee in Westport, died Dec. 23 at her home. She was 58.

She was born in Trenton, N.J., a daughter of the late David and Janet (Steinman) Dworkin. She was formerly associated with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Internal Revenue Service, and was a branch operations supervisor for Bank of America in Westport.

She was also a stay at home mother and volunteered in her daughters’ schools.. She had a love of National Parks, and found great joy in traveling to many national recreation areas.

She is survived by her husband Doug Boothroyd, her daughters, Elizabeth Boothroyd and Allison Boothroyd, sister Andrea Dworkin and nieces, nephews, cousins and in laws.

Services will take place on Thursday, Dec. 27, at 1 p.m. from Congregation B’nai Israel, 2710 Park Ave., Bridgeport, with interment following at B’nai Israel Cemetery on Moose Hill Road in Monroe.

Memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405 or to the Eye Tumor Research Foundation P. O. Box 832 Philadelphia, PA 19105 (http://www.etrf.org).
