Born in Seattle on Aug. 21, 1954, he moved with his family to Westport in the early 1960s. He attended Westport schools and graduated from Staples High School in 1973 and from Central Connecticut State University in 1977 with a bachelor’s degree in business.
For the past 25 years, he lived in San Diego and was an area manager for Meridian Leasing Corp.
He is survived by his father John Pinyan; his wife Leslie; two daughters, Krista and Brooke; and one son, Blake. He is also survived by a brother, Greg, and five sisters, Lynn, Melody, Mary, Sue Sue, and Jackie, as well as 13 nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his mother in 1971, Carol Ann Pinyan.
His love for his family was evident through the many ways he gave back to his family and community over his lifetime, his family said.
Most notably, in recent years he spend countless hours as a volunteer involved in all of his children’s activities and in support to the local sports programs in North County San Diego.
Services were held in San Diego on Nov. 30. A memorial get together will be on Saturday, Dec. 29 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Blu Parrot Restaurant, Westport.
A college fund has been established for his children and the family requests donations be made to the Pinyan Education Fund, P.O. Box 8544 Rancho Santa Fe, CA 92067.
