Westport Man Charged in Child Sex Abuse Case

UPDATE Westport police said today they arrested a 67-year-old Westport man and Norwalk high school teacher on child sex abuse charges resulting from an incident that allegedly occurred while he was babysitting a 4-year-old boy.

Victor A. Corso was arrested Monday by detectives at his Hillandale Road home where the alleged abuse occurred, police said. The Norwalk Public Schools website lists him as an eighth grade chemistry teacher at Brien McMahon High School where he tells parents he has a Ph.D. in chemical engineering.

At a Norwalk Superior Court hearing today, Judge Maureen Dennis lowered Corso’s bond from $150,000 to $25,000 and ordered him to refrain from having unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18. The Norwalk Schools said he has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal investigation.

An affidavit said that on Dec. 26, Westport police received a complaint from the state Department of Children and Families (DCF) about allegations of a suspected child sexual abuse case.
