Report: Martha Stewart Waits Out Cell Crunch

Westport's Martha Stewart will surrender to start serving her five-month sentence for obstructing justice as soon as there is a vacant cell at the Danbury federal prison, the New York Post reported today.

The newspaper's Page Six gossip column quoted an "insider" as saying: "There is no available bed at Danbury, and hasn't been for a couple of weeks. She's just waiting."

The report quoted Tracy Billingsley, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Bureau of Prisons as saying that both the low-security women's jail and the minimum-security women's "prison camp" in Danbury are "crowded."

The Post said Stewart's daughter Alexis, 38, will oversee her media company while her mother is in prison.

I have worked as a Court handwriting examiner for many years and have yet to see my area of expertise as basterdized as it was by the Secret Service handwriting "expert." Either the head of the forensic lab doesn't know what he is talking about or worked with prosecution to cement Stewart conviction.

I am personally attending the expert's perjury trial on Sept. 20 in New York City. Hopefully your crew will be there to observe what should be one more Court circus. Doubtful prosecution will come down on their mouth piece, eh???

I would also hope that Ms. Stewart waits for her real day in Court where the facts can be brought out that should cement a conviction for the prosecution as well as my corrupt colleague.

Looking forward to bringing out the truths about the handwriting expert when I start my New Yorkmedia blitz

Well, I think thats bull. If there is no room for her in the prison "camps" put her in the county lockup. You don't get out of prison cause they can't fit you ate your prison / day spa of choice.

If L. Pitney is a Court reporter in Canada, I'm wondering why the Crown has not challenged his competency. It's "bastardized". Not "basterdized".

You mean Canada, the 52nd state?

Posted by: fark at September 9, 2004 03:56 PM

John E. Kraft can't read and his company should challenge his competency because L. Pitney did not say they were a court reporter.

Actually, Canada needs to seriously lighten up. It's been reported to me they've stopped allowing us drinkin' Americans who have ever gotten a Driving Under the Influence, even ONCE, across their border. Considering driving violations in some states expire a few years on one's record, how are they getting this information? They have enough of a dope problem already, and it's likely migrated to their Parliment.. pfffft!

More proof that if you have money and status the rules will be bent in your favor. How many average citizens can stay at home while they wait for the prison’s NO VACANCY sign to be turned off? “Go to Jail. Go DIRECTLY to Jail. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.”

Tell Martha to get going on her "Pound you in the butt" federal prison gig. Hope she likes the Taco.

Wow, did this post attract every whitebred redneck out there or what? Yes, in large areas, prisions which are widely overpopulated sentences do get postponed or delayed by days, weeks, or months for room to open up. And they don't send her to "pound you in the butt prision" because she committed a NON-Violent crime and it was her first offense. And if white collar crime by the rich and famous is that offensive, turn your eyes toward D.C., and that should keep you busy for a long long time.

And yes, I realize I was typing to fast and made some grammatical errors, so lets not flame me as a way to not think of a legit response, k?

Fark! 52nd State? What is the 51st state?

Posted by: Jeff at September 9, 2004 05:12 PM

Un-informed Democrat?: I'm not certain about this post attracting [Quote:"...every whitebred redneck out there..."] But it did however attract this 30 year old African American Male from Alabama. Prison overcrowding is a crisis with many prisons reaching the bursting point. Nevertheless, I believe it to be the majority perspective that: If “they” want you in jail… “they” will find a place for you. Alabama’s prisons are overpopulated, as well. (Think about it… we’re Alabama.) But white collar, blue collar, no collar… you can bet that if you’re sentenced you won’t sit at home watching judge shows and waiting to see if Ken Jennings is ever going to loose on Jeopardy because there’s no room in jail for you. No IF’s, ANDs or But’s…right?

... and like the Democrat...
I too have made some grammatical errors. But if you can correct it... you knew what was meant.

Peace and Blessings... Here4more ;)
